Practical leadership development rooted in research

Exemplary Leadership Courses was founded on a simple conviction: leadership is not an innate talent but a learnable discipline. Based in Scotland, we partner with organisations of every size — from ambitious start-ups to established public-sector bodies — to design and deliver workshops that translate leadership theory into daily practice.

Our facilitators draw on decades of combined experience in organisational psychology, executive coaching, and change management. Every programme we run is grounded in peer-reviewed behavioural science and refined through continuous participant feedback, ensuring the frameworks we teach are both intellectually rigorous and immediately applicable on the job.

We believe that lasting change happens when learning is experiential, collaborative, and emotionally engaging. That is why our workshops prioritise live simulations, peer coaching triads, and structured reflection — not passive slide decks. Participants leave with a personal leadership action plan they can implement from day one.

Workshop programmes tailored to your goals

Each workshop can be delivered on-site at your premises, at our Scotland-based training centre, or in a fully interactive virtual format.

Emerging leaders programme

A two-day intensive for newly promoted managers covering self-awareness, situational leadership, and the fundamentals of giving effective feedback. Participants practise coaching conversations in real time and leave with a 90-day development roadmap.

Strategic leadership retreat

A three-day off-site experience for senior executives focused on strategic thinking, stakeholder influence, and leading through ambiguity. Includes scenario-planning exercises and one-to-one coaching debriefs with a certified executive coach.

Virtual leadership masterclass

A series of four half-day online sessions designed for distributed teams. Topics include leading remote teams, building psychological safety across time zones, and sustaining accountability without micro-management.

Team alignment workshop

A one-day facilitated session that helps intact teams clarify shared purpose, define operating agreements, and resolve underlying tensions. We use diagnostic tools to surface hidden dynamics before the workshop, ensuring every minute is spent on what matters most.

Executive coaching packages

Complement any workshop with six or twelve sessions of confidential one-to-one coaching. Our ICF-accredited coaches help leaders embed new behaviours, navigate complex organisational politics, and sustain momentum long after the workshop ends.

Bespoke programme design

Need something unique? We co-create fully customised leadership curricula aligned with your organisational values, competency framework, and strategic priorities. From needs analysis to post-programme evaluation, we handle every detail.

How we work with you

A structured, transparent approach from first conversation to lasting impact.

01

Discovery consultation

We begin with a complimentary 60-minute call to understand your organisation, culture, and the specific leadership challenges you want to address. This conversation shapes every decision that follows.

02

Programme design

Our learning designers craft a tailored agenda, selecting the right blend of frameworks, case studies, and experiential exercises. You review and refine the design before anything is finalised.

03

Workshop delivery

Experienced facilitators guide your leaders through immersive, high-energy sessions. We maintain small cohort sizes — typically twelve to sixteen participants — to ensure meaningful interaction and personalised feedback.

04

Follow-up and measurement

Within thirty days of delivery, we conduct a structured follow-up including participant surveys, behavioural assessments, and a detailed impact report with recommendations for continued development.

What our participants say

"The emerging leaders programme gave my team a common language for feedback that has genuinely changed how we communicate. Six months later, the frameworks are still part of our daily stand-ups."

"I was sceptical about virtual workshops, but the masterclass series was the most engaging online learning I have experienced. The breakout exercises felt just as powerful as being in the room."

James Okonkwo

"The team alignment session surfaced tensions we had been avoiding for months. The facilitator handled them with incredible skill, and we left with clear agreements that have held up under pressure."

Common questions

How many participants can attend a single workshop?

We recommend cohorts of twelve to sixteen participants for maximum engagement and personalised feedback. For larger groups we run parallel sessions with multiple facilitators, ensuring the same quality of experience for every participant.

Can workshops be delivered at our own offices?

Absolutely. We deliver on-site across the United Kingdom and internationally. We bring all materials and equipment; you simply provide a suitable room. We also offer sessions at our training centre in Scotland or fully virtual delivery for distributed teams.

What industries do you work with?

Our client base spans technology, financial services, healthcare, higher education, the public sector, and professional services. Leadership fundamentals are universal; we contextualise case studies and simulations to reflect your industry and organisational culture.

How do you measure workshop impact?

We use a blended evaluation model that includes post-session surveys, 360-degree feedback comparisons at 30 and 90 days, and qualitative interviews with participants and their managers. You receive a comprehensive impact report with data-driven recommendations.

What is the typical investment for a workshop?

Pricing depends on programme length, cohort size, and customisation level. A standard two-day workshop for up to sixteen participants typically ranges from £4,500 to £8,000 excluding VAT. Contact us for a detailed quote tailored to your requirements.
